At Piglet's, we believe that learning should be a fun, safe experience that fosters love of learning and curiosity for years to come. Whilst the Piglet’s curriculum is based on the core disciplines of written and spoken language, mathematics and nature and society, the entire teaching program is based on the motto of 'Learning Through Play'.
Piglet’s Playgroup is a fun, educational journey within Early Childhood Education and Care for children aged between 18 months and 5 years. The Piglet's program was developed by Keera Giloi, a qualified nursery and primary school teacher who has specialised in ‘special needs’. Keera has worked extensively with Educational Psychologists, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to develop the Piglet's programme. She has run Piglet's since 2004, and is also a proud mom to three beautiful children.
The children of Piglet’s Playgroup range in age between 18 months and 5 years. They are integrated during playtimes, however children are streamed according to age and skill level during activity times. At Piglet’s, we believe that children gain much from being integrated within a mixed age environment. The children are not limited by any activity being “too mature or immature”, with each activity being adjusted to the individual child. The older children learn patience and leadership skills and the younger children observe and learn from the older children. Naturally we value individual differences and remain available to discuss specific arrangements for your child. Each of the Piglet's groups has a maximum limit of 12 children.
Parents are kept informed with the use of the Shutterfly site. Photographs of activities done, themes and newsletters are updated weekly to allow the parents to be involved in their child's progress.
